Key crossbenchers are not yet sold on plans to require voters to show ID at the next election, with Jacqui Lambie and Centre Alliance questioning Coalition urgency as it stonewalls on a federal anti-corruption commission.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison and proponents of legislation being sold as election integrity measures want the new rules in place for the poll due by May 2022, with a possible push in Parliament before Christmas.
