Jacinta Price deepens Libs’ divide from migrant Australia

Saying sorry for her ill-judged and divisive remarks is the least she should do to help repair the damage she has done to the Liberal Party and to the nation’s social cohesion.

The prime minister’s adroit handling of the contentious immigration debate contrasts with the intervention of former Nationals turned Liberal Party senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price.

When questioned about the anti-immigration “March for Australia” rallies held two weekends ago, Anthony Albanese condemned the racist neo-Nazi extremist presence. At the same time, he also acknowledged that many “good people” had attended due to legitimate concerns about the level of migration and the impact on urban congestion, access to public services, and housing affordability.
