If the Attorney-General’s ongoing presence continues to damage the government and rob it of oxygen, he will be eased out.

Late Wednesday, there was only one question on everybody’s lips: Who do you believe?

The polity was just as, if not more, polarised after Porter’s emphatic, angry and emotional denial that as a 17-year-old, he raped a 16-year-old companion in 1988 when they were in Sydney for a school debating championship.
