Australia Post chair Lucio Di Bartolomeo has criticised bonuses purchased by ousted chief executive Christine Holgate, telling Parliament he wouldn't have approved the nearly $20,000 in spending.

Ms Holgate quit as the head of the government-owned corporation this month after it was revealed she bought four Cartier watches as rewards for executives who signed a deal to improve banking services inside post offices.
