Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison stand apart from all former Australian prime ministers in that they were never eligible for a pension upon their retirement from politics.

This is a product of John Howard succumbing to populist pressure by Mark Latham in February 2004 and abolishing the generous defined benefit pension scheme for MPs.
