Hotel quarantine mired with 'chaotic' scenes and suicide threats

A nurse who worked in the Andrews goverment's botched hotel quarantine program alleged that a worker from the Health Department told a guest they needed "to stop threatening suicide just so they can get a cigarette".

The revelation came in Thursday's COVID-19 Hotel Quarantine Inquiry hearings, which heard of "chaotic" scenes and "mayhem" at hotels and "concerning" conditions around access to fresh air and mental health support.
