Hefty fines for social distancing rule breakers

Victoria, NSW and Queensland have introduced harsh new measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, announcing hefty on-the-spot fines for people who break social distancing rules.

The new restrictions came into effect at midnight on Monday as Queensland and Western Australia also flagged further border controls.
