Josh Frydenberg’s rival in the race for the seat of Kooyong, Monique Ryan, has distanced herself from social media comments in which her brother described the Treasurer as “a grubby little man” and a “obsequious panderer”.

The development came days after Dr Ryan criticised Mr Frydenberg for telling a story about her mother-in-law’s intention to vote Liberal during his campaign launch.
