Greens voters are overwhelmingly in favour of legislation to drive down heavy industrial emissions, with none “strongly opposed”, according to a survey that undermines Bob Brown’s view the party can risk crashing the reforms in its stand-off with Labor.
Of the three major political groups, Greens voters are the most eager for the legislation to succeed, with 69 per cent in favour of the safeguard mechanism, followed by 64 per cent among Labor voters and 50 per cent across the Coalition.
