Greens, Coalition shrug off double dissolution risk from housing impasse
The Greens have forced a delay on Labor’s shared equity housing bill, brushing off Anthony Albanese’s threats of a double dissolution election and further frustrating the government’s play for first home owners.
Labor went into the week without the votes to pass its Help to Buy plan through the Senate, attempting to force the Greens and the Coalition to vote against measures designed to help 40,000 people buy their first property.
