Cape York Indigenous leader Noel Pearson is calling for hundreds of millions of dollars held in trusts for native title groups to be transferred to the Future Fund to boost returns and promote transparency.

Mr Pearson said existing structures for managing native title money often involved opaque trusts that either locked-up money too tightly or suffered from the funds being squandered and not invested wisely.
