A new strategic approach to hiring consultants is being introduced to reset what Finance Minister Katy Gallagher says is a distorted and unhealthy relationship between the federal public sector and the big consulting firms.

Senator Gallagher and Public Service Commissioner Gordon de Brouwer also reaffirmed their commitment to a “fair and robust” review of the conduct of bureaucrats referred to in the final report of the robo-debt royal commission.
