The NSW government is being urged to franchise publicly operated buses in Sydney as the private sector takes the helm of the city’s iconic ferry fleet.
A report by LEK Consulting, to be released on Friday by the Tourism and Transport Forum, identifies “immediate opportunities" for franchising public buses in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and Canberra under a model giving governments control over routes and fares.
