Four out of five influencer posts fail to disclose advertising ties

A sweep of popular Australian influencer accounts by the federal consumer watchdog has found rampant lack of disclosure of commercial relationships, with four out five posts appearing to advertise or receive incentives to promote brands without clear disclosures.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission launched the sweep earlier this year to identify misleading testimonials and endorsements by social media influencers.
