Morrison rebate rules put Exorcist trilogy in a spin

The makers of the new Exorcist trilogy say talks to take post-production work to the United States are under way because of concerns about the Morrison government’s planned changes to film and TV tax offsets in Australia.

As Labor warned local creative companies could lose out from delays in passing legislation designed to increase local industry capacity, US production company Blumhouse said it would not qualify for a post-production, digital and visual effects (PDV) rebate under the new rules.
