Major players in Australia’s film and television industry have called on Parliament to support planned changes to tax breaks for local productions even though they oppose an accompanying proposal that will make it harder to access a rebate for visual effects work.
The 30 per cent tax rebate for post-production, digital and visual effects (PDV) has helped fund big movies and television series in Australia, with companies required to spend $500,000 to qualify.
