The Australian Electoral Commission is looking into four companies linked to teal independent candidates following allegations from the Coalition that they were not properly registered as election vehicles.
Companies set up to raise and spend money on behalf of political candidates and parties must be registered with the AEC and submit annual disclosures to the commission’s transparency register.
