Peter Dutton has seized on the turmoil created by Donald Trump’s tariff war to recalibrate his struggling election campaign, arguing a Labor government – possibly in coalition with the Greens – was the last thing the nation needed.
After jettisoning his work from home policy amid a female voter backlash, Dutton switched focus to the chaos unfolding domestically and abroad, noting a Coalition government had nursed the economy through the pandemic.
