Federal ban on Nazi symbols looming
A federal ban on Nazi symbols appears likely after the government indicated its support for an opposition push to impose fines and jail terms for such actions as displaying the swastika and giving the Nazi salute.
The government said it was considering moving after the opposition sought to introduce a private member’s bill to ban the display of Nazi symbolism, in a challenge to the Albanese government to back its words with actions.
