Domestic violence protections being ‘weaponised’
Child protection and legal systems designed to respond to domestic violence are being weaponised by perpetrators to further harm their victims, the government’s independent commissioner has warned.
Calling for better strategies to engage with men as a way to stem rising instances of violence against women, Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Commissioner Micaela Cronin used an address to the National Press Club in Canberra to argue for a new definition of masculinity.
