Maverick MP Craig Kelly said he wanted mining magnate Clive Palmer’s financial backing for a legal challenge to Facebook’s ban on him as well as to help fund his long-shot re-election campaign.

Mr Kelly said he would not stand under the banner of Mr Palmer’s political movement, the United Australia Party, but recontest his seat of Hughes as an independent.
