Cracks ground RAAF planes as bushfire season looms

The Air Force has grounded some of its transport planes after structural cracks were found in the airframe near the tail fins.
The grounding of the troubled C-27J Spartan aircraft comes on the brink of the summer natural disaster season, when the planes can be used to take off and land on shorter and isolated runways to drop off supplies.
