The Liberal Party has agreed in principle to a set of watered-down policy demands by the Nationals, paving the way for the Coalition to be restored within days.

While net zero emissions were not part of the discussions, Liberals are warning that any enduring rapprochement must include an implicit undertaking by the Nationals to stay committed to the target.
