The future of the Coalition hangs in the balance after a majority of Liberals pushed back against a proposed peace plan to reunite with the Nationals, on the basis they could keep threatening to quit the 80-year-old political alliance every time they don’t get their way.
At the same time, many argued that allowing the Coalition to collapse would be a worse fate, and someone had to be “the adult in the room”.
