Prime Minister Scott Morrison has defended Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews who claimed China timed the Solomon Islands security deal to coincide with the federal election.

Speaking in Launceston on Saturday, Mr Morrison said China has “form on foreign interference in Australia”.
