Claims China interfered in federal election are ‘unhinged’, Labor says
Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews has claimed China timed the announcement of a security pact with the Solomon Islands to interfere with the federal election, prompting Labor to accuse her of being desperate and unhinged.
With the security deal sparking attacks on the government’s national security record, Ms Andrews said China was watching the outcome of the election carefully, given differences between the government and opposition over the relationship.
