Australia’s peak business groups have welcomed Anthony Albanese’s mission to China but cautioned the relationship will not return to the way it used to be, and said that businesses were right to diversify their export markets.

Mr Albanese leaves on Saturday for the first visit to China by an Australian prime minister since 2016 in what will be a culmination of 18 months of efforts to stabilise the relationship.
