Atlassian boss Mike Cannon-Brookes is behind a plan for the rapid rollout of solar and battery-power technology in communities hit by the summer of wild weather.

The tech giant co-founder and his wife, Annie Cannon-Brookes, are contributing around $12 million to a new initiative to help communities in NSW, Victoria and South Australia get off-grid energy supply in the wake of damaging bushfires, floods and storms.
