Chalmers details plan to get pensioners, welfare recipients back to work

Age pensioners and those on income support, such as the unemployed, will be allowed to earn more before they lose benefits, under measures designed to lure them back into the workforce and help tackle the nation’s skills and labour shortages.

Releasing the employment white paper on Monday, Treasurer Jim Chalmers said the government would nail down the changes to the age pension Work Bonus that were announced after last year’s jobs summit.
