Bell report reveals Morrison’s ‘cult of secrecy’ and sixth portfolio bid
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has left open the prospect of a parliamentary censure for his predecessor after a top-level report into Scott Morrison’s self-appointment to multiple ministries found the move was “corrosive of trust in government”.
Mr Morrison also tried to appoint himself to a sixth portfolio, environment, former High Court judge Virginia Bell’s report revealed, but abandoned the idea when told about the complexity of administering environmental approvals laws.
