BCA seeks charity status for fire-relief trusts

The Business Council is negotiating with the federal government to obtain charity status for trusts that will support firefighters and help rebuild communities that have been devastated by the bushfire crisis.
The BCA, which has formed a partnership with The Australian Financial Review and Equity Trustees, hopes that making donations tax deductible will give those inclined to contribute another reason to do so.
