Labor’s pledge to subsidise the installation of new home batteries is expected to charge take-up, help households save on their energy bills and reduce the time it takes to pay off making the switch to about half a dozen years.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Sunday promised to spend $2.3 billion to provide 30 per cent rebates on household battery systems from July this year if re-elected on May 3. Labor said the program was designed to help fund 1 million new units by 2030.
