Australia’s Jewish community is on alert after two Israeli staff members were shot dead in Washington, allegedly by a pro-Palestinian supporter.

With sensitivities still high over the surge in local antisemitism in response to Israel’s 18-month-long war in Gaza, the Executive Council of Australian Jewry contacted the Australian Federal Police following Wednesday night’s shooting (Thursday AEST).
