Australia needs to boost its capacity to make pharmaceutical drugs following the coronavirus pandemic, even if it means paying more over the counter, Industry Minister Karen Andrews suggests.
As the government makes plans to boost the manufacturing of critical products after being exposed by the surge in global demand, Ms Andrews said it was more about repurposing existing capacity and making sure there was a guaranteed supply of raw materials.
