Australia and allies lift pressure on G20 and Trump over Ukraine
Rio de Janeiro | Australia, the United States and Britain are stepping up pressure on the G20 to take seriously Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, while also sending a message to Donald Trump against appeasing Vladimir Putin.
Before the G20 leaders’ summit in Brazil, which Mr Putin has again chosen not to attend, outgoing US President Joe Biden gave the green light for Ukraine to use long-range American missiles to strike deep inside Russia, in the Kursk region, where Russia has deployed up to 10,000 North Korean troops.
