South-east Queensland is facing the prospect of an extended lockdown after nine new local cases of coronavirus were reported on Sunday.
After announcing a snap three-day lockdown on Saturday, Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said she was concerned about the new cluster of cases linked to five Brisbane schools, including Brisbane Grammar School and Brisbane Girls Grammar School, saying it was “rapidly escalating”.
