Here’s the main news developments from today’s 11am NSW update.
- New local cases are 210, a big rise from the 177 reported on Friday.
- Only 58 of the 210 cases were in isolation for their entire infectious period, and the isolation status of 120 cases is still being investigated.
- Of the 210 cases, 153 were from the south or south-west of the city.
- There are now 11 people in intensive care under the age of 50.
- A man in his 60s from Sydney’s south-west died overnight, the 14th death related to this outbreak.
- Over 1000 police are enforcing a “ring of steel” around the CBD to stop people attending anti-lockdown protests.
- Taxi and uber drivers have been told not to taken anyone into Sydney’s CBD between 9am and 3pm today.
