Newly re-elected Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has promised to promote more culturally diverse candidates into government, government boards and courts, after Labor suffered a swing of more than 9 per cent against it in its heartland western and northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Mr Andrews also said that Labor would work with the final make-up of the upper house “whatever” it is, as the Greens, Legalise Cannabis and a group of left-leaning minor parties were on track to hold the balance of power, after Labor’s state election victory.
