Coral Princess passengers leave ship without checks for negative RAT

Passengers from the infected Coral Princess visited Bondi Beach, Sydney’s CBD and other city suburbs on Wednesday after the cruise ship docked and guests were allowed to leave without showing proof of a negative rapid antigen test.

More than two years after the Ruby Princess docked in Sydney Harbour and was briefly linked to one in eight NSW coronavirus cases, the arrival of another Carnival Australia cruise ship carrying almost 130 infected crew and passengers has highlighted flaws in the state’s COVID-19 protection measures.
