Business warns NSW lags in red tape and planning delays

Business has cautiously welcomed a NSW government aspiration to slash approval times for major projects, warning the state is currently dead last for small and large applications.

David Borger, the Business Western Sydney executive director and a former planning minister, said the system for project approvals was “difficult, slow and uncertain”, with hotels and data centres among the growth industries being held back by red tape.
