Leading women from the nation’s corporate landscape are frustrated an elite men-only club in downtown Sydney has voted against allowing women to join.

A majority of members at The Australian Club, which counts former prime ministers John Howard and Malcolm Turnbull among its ranks, rejected the proposal on Tuesday morning.
