A damning anti-corruption commission report into former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian’s conduct in office should be struck out because it was completed after the official leading the investigation’s term had expired, a court heard.
Lawyers representing Ms Berejiklian, who steered NSW through the pandemic before stepping down amid the corruption investigation, also argued there was no evidence that her role in handing out two regional grants totalling $15.5 million was driven by a desire to advance a secret relationship with former MP Daryl Maguire.
An earlier version of this story listed Ms McColl as serving judge on the NSW Court of Appeal. This is incorrect. Ms McColl retired from the Court of Appeal in January 2019.
