NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has killed off Australia’s de facto “COVID zero” policy, saying on Sunday that the delta strain was so transmissible that it was “near impossible” to eliminate.
Ms Berejiklian conceded that NSW was unlikely to ever achieve zero transmission of COVID-19, after the state reported 415 new locally acquired cases of the virus.
