Australia could be linked in to an ASEAN-wide power grid in future, as countries in the region consider ways to collaborate to access more reliable energy supplies.

The possibility of Australia both feeding energy into an ASEAN-wide grid, and also providing expertise to developing countries in establishing their own energy 'microgrids', were issues that came up during the CEO Forum at which Australian and ASEAN businesses considered practical means of co-operation to put forward to leaders at the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Sydney on the weekend.
