Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington may have donned hi-vis vests every day this week, but the 2020 election campaign has so far still been the contest of the bland and the bland-er.

Although the issues confronting Queensland's economy are serious - closed borders, a decimated tourism industry and sky-rocketing debt - the Labor and LNP leader have just been going through the motions this week.
