Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk's electoral honeymoon was only supposed to last six months after she stunningly defeated Liberal National Party premier Campbell Newman after only one term in 2015.

Dubbed the "accidental premier" by the media, Palaszczuk's high school teacher demeanour was the perfect antidote to the abrasive and aggressive Newman, who trashed his massive political majority in less than three years.
