Diversity ‘laggards’ IAG, Reece, Accent seek female directors

Accent Group chairman David Gordon admits there is “no reason” for consumer companies such as his to have male-dominated boards, after the footwear giant behind chains such as Platypus, Hype and Timberland was called out for its lack of female directors.

It follows the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) launching a formal voting policy aimed at getting the 97 ASX 300 companies that have less than 30 per cent female boards to ramp up their gender equality.
