Film and TV industry oppose tax change

Australia’s film and TV industry is working to fight moves to cut access to a key post-production tax rebate, warning Coalition plans to double the spending threshold for eligibility will send important work overseas.

The 30 per cent tax rebate for post-production, digital and visual effects (PDV) has helped fund big movies and television series in Australia, with companies required to spend $500,000 to qualify.
