Australia's average wage is 30 per cent above world average

Australia has the ninth highest average wage in the world according to a new report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, as the Coalition government and Labor begin an election fight over pay and income taxes.

The average Australian annual wage of $US57,694 ($80,493) that takes into account the purchasing power of workers is almost 30 per cent above the advanced economy average of $US44,475 in 2017.
