One-third of Australian children behind on their learning: NAPLAN

One in three Australian school children are behind where they should be on literacy and numeracy and need additional support to get them on track.

The 2023 National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) found that one in 10 students are in dire need of help and struggling with even the most basic fundamental tasks, while another 23 per cent are underperforming for their age.
